Bench Rest Competition

Shooters use a scoped .22 rifle firing rimfire ammunition with a maximum velocity of 1,310 fps (no stingers or hyper velocity rounds). Shooters will shoot from a seated bench rest position using any type of gun rest, provided it is safe, such as sandbags, bipods, or specialized bench rest rigs.

Targets consist of 10 each NRA 1/5 scale steel silhouettes:

  • Chickens (2” x 2”) at 50 yards
  • Pigs (3” x 4”) at 100 yards
  • Turkeys (3” x 5”) at 150 yards
  • Rams (6” x 4”) at 200 yards

Shooters are grouped into relays and rotate through all four target types. After being called to the firing line, each shooter has 10 minutes for unlimited “sighters” (sighters are shots fired at an 11″ x 8″ steel plate or swinging silhouette at the same distance as the targets) and fire 10 shots for score, one shot at each of the 10 targets in sequence from left to right. Each match requires 40 rounds plus sighters.

Offhand Competition

Shooters use a .22 rifle, with any optics or open sights, firing rimfire ammunition not exceeding 1,310 fps (no stingers or hyper velocity). Shooters must shoot from a standing position—no slings or supports allowed. Targets are larger than the standard NRA small bore steel silhouettes making it more fun for shooters of all skill levels.

Targets consist of 10 each NRA 3/8 scale steel silhouettes:

  • Chickens (6.5″ x 5.5″) at 40 yards
  • Pigs (5.25″ x 8.25″) at 60 yards
  • Turkeys (8.5″ x 7″) at 75 yards
  • Rams (9.875″ x 12″) at 100 yards

Shooters are grouped into relays and rotate through all four target types. After being called to the firing line, each shooter has 15 seconds to load their firearm and prepare to shoot, followed by 5 minutes to fire 10 shots for score, one shot at each of the 10 targets in sequence from left to right. Each match requires 40 rounds.
